These ghosts bring in all sorts for negative energy and misfortunes for businesses, health, and relationships. This 2017, ghost month runs from August 22-September 19. Moving houses and big renovations should also be put at halt this month as they may bring in more misfortunes and jinx your home.

YOU CAN’T BEAT THEM, SO FEED THEM
Some Feng Shui experts, instead of avoiding the hungry ghosts, give them water and food to the ghosts as a form of peace offering. You can also burn incense and paper money (not real money, this is available in Feng Shui stores) as an offering to them, this can be done once during the entire ghost month.
REMEMBER THE DEAD
Offer candles and incense to you deceased loved ones so they can help protect you against the hungry ghosts.
BE EXTRA CAREFUL
Take extra caution when driving, traveling, swimming, and doing regular activities as this month makes everyone prone to accidents.
WHEN OUT OF YOUR HOME
Wear some form of red (bag, scarf, etc.) and bring a round a pinch of salt with you in your bag. It is believed that the hungry ghosts are scared of red and salt. You can also try this at home through accessorizing with red pillow cases and putting a bowl of salt in dead spots of your house.
